Updates

A few thoughts...

Christmas holiday's started for me a few weeks ago, mostly revision, browsing for Tag 2 videos.

Lee- Starting to get mixed feelings, wr+3,4 initially I thought in the future I would abuse, turns out it's linear.
However, nonetheless, it's not all that bad, hearing good things from his lows and combo potential.

Jinpachi- Well what drew me to him was his beastly punishment, pretty much heard good things on TZ with
regards to him. Just started to watch Korean/Japanese footage with Jinpachi, just to get a feel on how he's played, the common things I see, guaranteed followups, combos etc.
I have yet to see a Lee/Jinpachi team so all I can do is imagine or wait a bit later for someone to pick them up.

Heihachi- Just reading, few notes to myself...EWGF=buff your friend when used, your foe when against, d/b+2 or b+2?  Young one..eh?

Anna- Haven't caught up too mich with her in terms of footage (not really after her much), f+3,2--ahh, my mind wants to drop her completely but I think I'll stick around with her when console hits.

Need to revise some more, polish my report and start some offline session exploring...

Trail of thought...

Notes: SC5, PSVita, TTT2 Holiday fall, make sure I pass 1st year at uni and pass well (1st class), coding practice, Amagami SS season 2!!!!!!!!

Have a good day/night all!

Reflection and thinking on to TTT2

OK, so today is another day, pretty much consiting so far of uni work, further studying, programming practice and watching youtube videos, forums etc etc.

Tekken-wise one thing that has crossed my mind was my tag partner, back in BR I only ever mained Lee, my only problem is learning another character and put as much time and effort to being effective with them on the same if not greater level than Lee...

hmmm....

I've played with others, Bruce, Xiaoyu, Anna, Nina, Heihachi, Devil Jin,even Wang....

..

...but something inside me just wasn't satisfied, it's like I wasn't even learning the characters with the same love and dedication as I put in for Lee I guess...

I've read various character specific guides and while they're really useful, it just feels like I'm rushing through them, I ask myself this sometimes...

  • Why am I using that character in the first place?
Various answers I've given myself is to be different...find my own style, not to be a tier whore..., or something like, because they have great pokes, frame adv, stuff like that.
It's like I'm being programmed or learning a character like a robot...I dunno so many thoughts...

I think the thing I lack is patience sometimes, well not patience but I'm not persevering enough...I need to put more time and effort rather than rushing to the meat, the good stuff.

Another thing I like is offline experience with other players, but that's due to uni, parents, my part time job etc...

TTT2 is approaching and will approach ever so rapidly like it was yesterday, now is the time for me to really think and look at where I want to get myself to, what I want to achieve, more importantly with which 2 characters. I feel personally that having two characters that I'll be loyal to will keep me dedicated.

I remember when I brought T6BR 8am in the morning, coming home, playing it, doing those combos I saw on youtube guides and starting using Asuka whom I presumably thought I would stick to (didn't last long, got bored lol)
Then I remembered like *pop*, hey Lee has that mist step, why not try that for combos? Ahh those T5/DR vids of Lee, thank you^_^

Lee was hard for me at the start especially even doing the b+1:1~f combo I flopped SO MANY times, and chaining all the b+2~f's agh, when I look back from where I am to how I was before, it's just amazing how what you consider so simple was such a hard task...

Sample combo 7 for Lee....haha everyone had to jump through that hoop...:)

So TTT2, who will be my tag partner with Lee?

I'm thinking along the characters of either Ling, Alisa , Bruce, Anna

Those are the main 4 characters I want to try and pursue. Tekken hybrid will allow me to start learning TTT2 version ling and alisa....assuming they don't get patched for frames of something.

It's gonna be a long journey...it really will be...

Some of my wishes include just playing in an offline session with other people, particulary those who have more experience than me. I also want to become one of the best Lee/(whoever team) player, or one of the top users in my area or UK.

It's gonna be tough balancing studies with tekken/my other games, but it can be done!

Did I mention I'll be buying Soul Calibur 5?

Yet another competitive game I'll try for myself, though I'm not to sure how big the UK scene is, but I'll mostly play for fun, combos, online if theres no alternative...(btw I;ll be maining, Mitsu, dampierre again, and learn Viola..!!:))

Well, I've got things to do now it's been a while since I've blogged, next time I'll be posting some interesting match videos with Lee if I do run into some and just make a comment on it or so.

I feel so excited and overjoyed (maybe reacting a little too much ha) when I see good Lee play, I think it's just me...

well so long...until next time:)

Tekken 6 Archive (PSP combos)

I have a few notes and combos still on my laptop that I'll share in a moment or so (maybe tomorrow), Tekken 6 is near the end of it's longevity so I think I'll do what I can and just leave fragments...

BTW siick stuff I saw from combo team PI (Perfect Input), damn and I have to leave this place now....

Will update soon!!!! Kai!!! even Lee has been improved in TTT2, damn so much to talk about

...and so the adventure continues

Well a lot has been going on, from the day I collected  my results (got into nottingham trent uni btw!!) til now.
I have quite a bunch to say and keep a note of, so lets start shall we?

Lee in TTT2
He's changed a little, this I don't mind to be fair, although I wished he had additional input moves, such as qcf, hcf, or more ss moves to be fair, I dunno what namco were thinking but hey we got a few 'toys' to play with.

New moves
ff+1+2, ok i'm not too sure about this, it wall breaks which sounds cool, frame-wise, lets hope it's within the i15 and below list, range wise, I hope it'll be as useful if not better than f+2,1.

fff_wr+3,4 cool

Changed/brought back

flick flack u,u/b

f,n,3+4 lee's sliding

f+1+2,3 revolution zwei is back

Well in about a 6 days from now a lot of TTT2 will be shown, information will be widespread, whilst people in japan will be enjoying/testing/competing with the TTT2 game, I'll probably be playing the upcoming Tekken Hybrid game (PS3). Hope that Lee's in the demo version, not just the 4 characters (ling, alisa, DJ, Kaz).

I had some raw, un editted footage I wanted to upload to youtube, my psp diary entry sorta thing. Guess I haven't had the time to do so.

Pretty tired now, so I'll leave it at that.

Peace

Waiting for Results....Make or Break Time

Somewhat nervous for my A-level results...I have to get into university (Nottingham Trent Uni to be exact). My Grades are already sealed in stone so there's no point in thinking of an outcome for change.

All I can do is wait...

If I do get into uni this means for me..

More Freedom=Offline sessions
I can do a course that I enjoy (computer science w/games technology yes please!!)
2nd year I can move out, I hope to travel more and be distant from my family for a while...

I hope all goes well my God's grace, I know it is done.

Another thing...wish I asked to start at 11am for work and not 10am, good thing is at least I won't have to work 8am-5pm and completely kill myself at the bar. 10am-5pm is ok for me.

Well, not much tekkenwise other than starting a new game, Lee currently Fujin rank...

Somehow caught myself with Soul Calibur Broken Destiny, been thinking of dampierre for a while, hope he's in SC5. Which reminds me, I saw the gamescom trailer today. TIRA IS HOT!!!! Forger IVY with her granny-middle aged Oppai jugs, TIRA!!!

Hold on...iirc Tira was 17 during SC4..17 years later she's 34? hmmm....I'll step back a lil'

Well better get ready for tomorrow, need my ID card so I can get results, straight after which I must iron my clothes for work.

Wired connection back up no more £3 SMS hour from BT connection

I figured I might as well bring my laptop to wired mode rather than use wireless, which reminds me, I have an army of video clips and research to upload...

New Stuff

Well it's been a while, haven'thad much time to blog about stuff. I have lots ofpractice (offline) footage, both PS3 and PS3 which I'll upload in the near future.

Catchup
Highs
Got a job, I work at Costa Coffee at the VERY FIRST Drive-thru (located in Nottingham), work is good, pay is good, just need to train and master all the coffee's.
College is over, just gotta grind through 3 more exams then no more study!!

Lows
Online (heh God help me oh..!) demoted twice back to vindicator, haven't put up a solid playstyle and I really need character knowledge, my spacing was so crap at times and I really needed that edge to make opponents guess rather than me guessing. Lee was never a turtle breaker...

However, now I'm used to losses I take every defeat as a lesson for the future, online is pretty crap but there are times I can anticipate stuff correctly...I hate law/lili/jin and his ff+2 :^

Tekken Tag 2!!
Wow so I saw some footage from Korea test plays to E3, it looks really amazing, though I'm upset due to lack of Lee footage, I'm very anxious as to his new moves apart from

WR+3,4B!

and changed properties

2,2,3 KND away but wall splats

meh, hope Lee gets like a qcf, qcb, throw, or hms throw, even better HMS movement (good thing DR SS movement is back). More +frames and a few better if not improved lows and of course more/new just frame moves.

Until next time!

Not much...

Well I've been focussed on revision for my final exams (which will determine if I go to uni or not), haven't been thinking much about tekken these days.

I also have a job, been working/training for 3 days now, got a day off today, even more pressure for me I guess.

Ah oh well, still waiting, still thinking....

New TV, Lag, more practice!!

So yesterday we bought a new 42" LG TV, we had to bring the PS3 to the living room so as a whole it means I'll be having less time for tekken practice, as mum and dad would want to watch some normal TV. News sport etc.

But today, 30mins ago I had a little practice session with my brothers, man the graphics looked better, but man lag was an issue (TV lag that is not the typical online lag) I noticed roughly 1 ~ 3 frames of delay, which put me off a little, even worse I couldn't pull off an easy combo for Lee, d/f+2, 4,u+3~ff, b+2~f, well I couldn't even link multi b+2's.

Looks like I gotta adjust now and get used to the TV. I also need to buy a new USB cable, maybe 2 new ones as my original was faulty.

I don't plan to invest too much time for tekken as I have revision and exams, I still have the psp but I'll reserve it for punishment, setups etc. I've had a good break so far, but man, I really need to catch up on my work, too much pokemon and tekken and not enough study.

Peace.

Good and Bad and General news

Good news- New combo saved, really happy it worked as well especially with such a small character

Bad news- Still can't do two other combos, If I can land this, boy walls will never be the same again

I have so many ideas, possibilities for music, intro, shots, combos just keep popping in my head like no tomorrow...

Can't wait for college to finish, then I can go home and start writing my combos before I forget them, I keep watching and re-watching old and new combo vids for ideas, there's so much potential out there...

I will not finish til I get all the combos I want saved...but then, will new ideas spring up? WIll I have to stall for longer?

This is why I don't believe in setting personal deadlines :)

Combo video stuff

Still in progress, I keep coming up with new ideas, I've sorta finalized the choice of music I will use, but theres just so many ideas flowing into me. I might have over 40 unique combos, should I try and break the 50 mark?

I still have a lot in mind for the intro, pluys a really unique juicy combo (IF ONLY IT HAD WALL BREAK TO CONTINUE!!).

I tried capturing that certain combo last night but after 50 tries it didn't kick in, distance, timing is everything I guess.

Other than that, I have a stupid blocked nose and it's putting me off my work, but meh, I gotta stay strong...and find something real hot and spicy to eat for lunch.

Random thoughts:

Combo inspirations
Drake the Demon
Madhittman
Byakkoko
Bappara
Murakumo

I also seem to haev futuristic thoughts for TTT2 CMVs, I should be in university by the time console is released, so maybe I can afford a quality capture card!!

The time will come soon, it will come, ugh this blocked nose is so annoying

Not much going..atm

So yeah...12:09 I'm typing, just had a business lesson, dozed off slighty, meh happens nearly every lesson. Tekken-wise, haven't had the time to play, more study less play til exams are outta the way.

Then again I need to find a weekend job to keep me going, although I don't really wanna work...yet!.

I still need to sort out punishment stuff for lee vs all characters, just can't find the will to do it. TTT2 is lurking round the corner, so maybe a new season is dawning?

Combos such as this will NOT work on WANG, or ROGER JR! Smallest hitboxes in the game (wang especially), I guess the sizes are a factor too, (haven't tried the combo on Ganryu yet).

My combo video is still held for a bit, even if it was finished, I need to wait til the full 3 part T6CP is uploaded and settled (few of my combos are there unreleased).

New combo I tried out after some experiment, very pleased it worked out too:)

T6CP TRAILER GET HYPE!!!

Here it is, personally I will never stop watching or get bored of this, you feel a sense of awe as you watch this.
Tobi has done an excellent trailer, superb editing. SMP also needs crediting for directing this project as a whole.
If  you haven't already, I would comment on this video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbgiqOTdlHQ&feature=feedf

Wall Splat Combos- Let's talk damage (notes)

I've been thinking a lot about wall combos for some time with Lee. A typical match we would see a Lee player uise something like:

F+2,1 W! f+4,3B!, D/f+3,2,3_SSR b+4, u/b+3

Now this is good to start with, I can understand that you have little time to think when you're under tournament pressure, but let's see other options Lee can do after successful wall splats.

I'm using Kazuya as my practice dummy

Wall Splat Moves
F+2,1
ff+3
b+1:1,2
hms+u/f+3

To be continued...

Why I chose Lee

My first post great! Here's a few summarised paragraphs on my choice to pick Lee.

So why did I choose Lee?
There are many reasons why I favoured lee over the rest of the tekken crew here's why:

Tekken 2- The music

This was my first game, I was 7 when my mum brought me my first PS1 console (had I chose the N64 over it I may never have been so drawn to tekken). So then when I loaded the game, my mum actually told me not to play it but to just watch it (Ok...I still never knew why but I obeyed nonetheless). So during the next hour I was watching random fights constantly, I enjoyed them, most were entertaining.
Then it was when  the game moved onto Lee's stage that I was somehow drawn to both him and the music, I loved it! I could feel the rhythm, the techno elements behind that stage soundtrack. I also liked his vest, gloves and boots:)

Tekken 5- Mist step wall carry

Introducing myself to Combo videos
During the days of console Tekken 5, I didn't own a PS2, so my only option would be going to a friends house to play tekken. During that time I could remember watching combo videos a lot on youtube, I was drawn to watching them after viewing a Tekken 5 King combo video which mostly had a cool looking ISW ender, to me I was like "man...I wanna learn this stuff". I was new to the whole 'juggle system' at the time, I didn't even know the proper terminology then.

Silver Demon Lee Combo Video
There were a range of combo videos I enjoyed watching, it was Lee however that stood out to me the most. Why? I might not even fully know myself, I guess I could say it was the fluent movements in his 'mist step' to punches, and kicks. I discovered he could carry opponents to the wall for extra hits, and this really appealed to me a lot.

Trying the combos myself
After a year of watching combo videos, studying for school, and whatnots, I was dropped of at my friends house; staying there for a few hours before I would be picked up to go on holiday. There were other who were with me too, so there was hype as tekken was loading (they're scrubs btw, but not total scrubs who suck!)
VS Mode- I pick lee, another guy picks, raven. The round starts, I can remember doing a few moves lee had in tekken 2 (notable ones such as d+4,4,4,4 and the new 4,3,4). Then it was time for me to "juggle", I remember doing; U/f+4, 1,2~f, 1,2~f, 3,4. Their reaction was like "Woah!!! Aaron man..." that kind of surprise reactions made me grin with approval, I even suprised myself at the results because I practically guessed the combo. I really didn't know any other combos other than that because it just naturally came to me, I didn't know how to use moves like b+1:1~f or mist trap etc because I never had the opportunity to study Lee's moves.
I can remember doing simple combos with king too and hwoarang, but I wasn't too bothered with them, but after I left the house, I knew I had a character to learn, to study and carry over to Tekken 6.

Conclusion

Well I suppose there was a lot more to it but I guess it will just go on forever. Later during the DR/T6 BR years in September 2009, I joined tekkenzaibatsu, I learned the main terminology used, as well as express my views on characters and discuss the new console version of Tekken 6. This game I took very seriously, I was learning and found lee's new combos and techniques to be quite hard at first, but with practice I can say I've mastered his fundamentals. Personally, I want to be creative with lee, finding setups and new combos, I have yet to participate in offline tournaments, so home, youtube videos, TZ and T6 online are the only resource I have access to. I'm still working on punishment guide, I just hope I can finish it before TTT2 hits console (or arcades for the matter)

Now that TTT2 is approaching, what will Lee be like, I ask myself, who should I use as a partner, I've been thinking of Bruce, Anna, Heihachi, Ling, perhaps Wang. The problem is, I don't have the same strong passion for those characters as I do with lee. Perhaps I need to give myself more time to play with them more.

AZ!
